Directed Assembly of Multifunctional Composites
This research thrust is focused on structures and materials formed through directed assembly routes, including robotically directed deposition of concentrated nanoparticle, colloidal, and polymer inks, evaporation induced assembly of mesoporous materials, and multiphoton deposition of optical waveguides.  A key component of this thrust is to create structures with unique optical and physical properties that can not be formed through self-assembly.
